Madison County Rural Health Council is proud to host Beyond the Storm: Breaking Through the Chaos — An Evening of Hope, Healing and Advocacy.
Beyond the Storm is an evening centered on hope, healing, meaningful conversation, and community connection. The event will bring together community members, local leaders, businesses, organizations, and partners to create space for open conversations about mental health, recovery, resilience, and advocacy. The evening’s featured speaker will be Cohen Miles-Rath, MSW, author of Mending Reality. Miles-Rath has been featured in The New York Times, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, and Psychology Today, sharing his experiences and perspective around mental health, healing, and recovery.“Beyond the Storm is about reminding people that difficult seasons do not have to define what comes next. We want this evening to create connection, encourage honest conversations, and leave people feeling hopeful about what is possible for themselves, their families, and their communities.”
~Jamie Hagenbuch, Program Manager for Mental Health Education
Cohen Miles-Rath, MSW, is the author of Mending Reality, a memoir chronicling his lived experience with mental illness and recovery. A nearly fatal mental health crisis transformed his life and clarified his purpose: to strengthen our mental health systems and deepen our collective understanding of mental illness and recovery.
Cohen has been featured in The New York Times, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Psychology Today, and more. A nationally recognized speaker and mental health advocate, he has delivered keynote presentations across the United States, using both his professional expertise and lived experience of mental illness to empower support and inspire hope. Through his roles with the Mental Health Association of New York State and the New York State Office of Mental Health, he has contributed to initiatives that strengthen mental health systems of care and expand pathways to recovery.
Books will also be avaible for purchase at the event.
We are currently seeking event sponsors.
With a varying levels of support, sponsorship of this event provides businesses & organizations with a meaningful way to demonstrate their commitment to mental health, recovery, resilience, and the overall wellbeing of the communities they serve.
Sponsorship support will help make the event possible by assisting with speaker expenses, venue and meal costs, community outreach, event production, and mental health education and awareness efforts connected to Madison County Rural Health Council’s mission: to improve the health of our communities by advocating, educating, and coordinating services for individuals and families.
Please contact Stephanie Henry to discuss your support of our Beyond The Storm event.
